Regal Rejuvenation! Londoners Can Stop The Tracks Of Time

As time passes, it takes its toll on the skin and the first signs of ageing are usually visible on your face. Lines and wrinkles make you look and feel older, but we offer a non-invasive solution, which helps to smooth your skin and give you a brighter, fresher complexion.

The ageing process

It’s impossible to halt the ageing process, but it is possible to roll back the years using our amazing non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. As you age, your skin loses collagen and this decreases elasticity and fullness, leaving you with lines and sunken skin.

If you’ve smoked or enjoyed sun-drenched holidays, the ageing process may be accelerated and you may find that you look older than you feel.

Our treatments

We offer Botox and dermal fillers to give your skin a reviving boost without the need for surgery.

Botox is injected into the skin to reduce muscle contraction in the facial muscles and encourage the muscles to relax; this reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles and gives your complexion a tighter, more youthful look. We use our expertise to ensure that the finished result looks very natural.

Fillers, including Restylane, are designed to add volume to the surface of your face to combat dullness and sunken skin and they can also smooth wrinkles and crow’s feet. Restylane contains hyaluronic acid, which is found in the body and is completely natural, and treatment is quick and simple without any nasty side-effects.

The procedure: is it painful?

The procedures for Botox and fillers are very similar. A very fine needle will be used to inject the filler or Botox into a specified area of skin and this will be repeated in accordance to your treatment plan; some patients have just one area of the face treated, while others have more.

Typically, the treatment takes less than 30 minutes.

The results

The results of facial rejuvenation treatment will be apparent shortly after your treatment session and they will last for between 3 and 9 months.

Let Your London Smile Shine This Summer With Invisalign

3177562_blogWe are delighted to offer Invisalign treatment for patients in London. If you’re looking to enjoy a gorgeous smile this summer, why not visit us to find out more about this amazing invisible treatment?

Our team has expertise in creating beautiful smiles using Invisalign and you could soon be sporting a stunning, straight smile!

How is Invisalign different?

Invisalign is a far cry from the metal train-tracks, which pop into your mind when somebody mentions braces. Rather than using traditional brackets and wires, Invisalign utilises aligners, which are removable appliances, made from clear plastic. The aligners sit over the teeth and they do not have any metal parts or bands.

Invisalign uses a series of aligners to gradually reposition and realign the teeth. The treatment pathway is planned in advance and each appliance is shaped differently. All the aligners are worn for 2 weeks and they must follow a specific order.

Why is Invisalign so great?

Invisalign is a really popular treatment and it’s not hard to see why. Aside from the obvious benefit that the aligners are clear and therefore virtually invisible to others, these braces are removable, which gives you flexibility and they are also comfortable. Treatment has minimum impact on your normal daily routine because you can take your aligners out to enjoy a meal out or brush your teeth; this also helps to maintain good oral hygiene.

Invisalign is suitable for a wide range of patients and we also offer Invisalign Lite for patients with minor issues and Invisalign Teen for younger patients.

Get Your London Dental Bridge In The Heart Of The City

2904341_blogThere are several benefits of replacing a missing tooth and we offer a range of options, including dental bridges.

About dental bridges

Dental bridges are a very popular option for patients who have a missing tooth. Essentially, the bridge is made of a false tooth, which is called a pontic, which is bonded to the neighbouring teeth to bridge the gap. There are different kinds of bridge to suit varying needs, including a cantilever bridge for gaps surrounded by healthy teeth on one side only and a resin-bonded bridge for missing front teeth.

Dental bridges, like crowns, can be made from various different substances, including precious metals and ceramics. We often recommend ceramic bridges which are bolstered by metal, so that the bridge looks natural and blends in with the natural teeth, but also offers strength and durability.

How long does a dental bridge last?

Bridges are not built to last forever, but they are a durable and hard-wearing solution and they should last for around 10-15 years. Your bridge will be checked out every time you have a routine dental check.

Is a bridge the best option for me?

There are various options available to patients who have lost teeth, including dentures, dental implants and bridges. It can be difficult to make a decision and this is why we run through all the options with you and explain the pros and cons of the different treatments to ensure you are able to make a well-informed decision. We will also be able to make recommendations once we have assessed your needs and taken factors, such as your budget and the kind of treatment you would prefer, into account.

Inviting Implants To Improve Your London Smiles

Many Londoners are choosing to invest money in making their smile look more attractive and we are delighted to offer a range of impressive modern dental treatments, including dental implants. For those who have been struggling with ill-fitting dentures or worrying about what people think very time they open their mouth and show off a gapped-tooth smile, dental implants could be the perfect solution.

Are dental implants an option for me?

Dental implants are a really versatile treatment and they are a good match for most clients. Implants have many benefits, not solely for the look of your smile, but also in terms of the function of your mouth. Once you have implants, you really can do everything you did before you lost your teeth, so you don’t need to panic about eating in public or being understood when you speak. When you have your consultation, your dentist will carry out the necessary checks to make sure that this is a viable treatment for you.

How do implants work?

Implants are essentially a replacement for the tooth root. They are small titanium posts, which are fixed into sockets in the jaw bone and then left to integrate into the bone. Once the implant has settled, it is capable of supporting tooth restorations and once this is in place, the tooth will look and work like a natural tooth.

Dental implants can be attached to bridges, dentures and crowns, so you can consider this treatment if you have a single missing tooth or many missing teeth.

Why should I consider dental implants?

Dental implants are the closest option to natural teeth and they are designed to last for many years. They are versatile and provide higher levels of functionality and better aesthetics than other tooth replacement treatments. They are easy to look after and they are anchored firmly into the jaw, so there is no risk of the new tooth coming loose.

SE1 Smiles Kept In Check When You Visit Our Dentists

4487372_blogThe importance of regular check-ups should never be underestimated. As well as being an essential step towards good oral health, check-ups also help to lower the risk of potentially serious general health conditions.

What happens during a check-up?

Many patients suffer from anxiety when they go to the dentist, but check-ups are really nothing to worry about. They take just a few minutes and they are completely painless. During your check-up, your dentist will examine your mouth and have a good look at your gums, tongue and teeth. Your dentist will check for signs of gum disease and tooth decay and they will record any changes that have occurred since your last appointment; they will also look out for any potential signs of oral cancer, such as slow-healing ulcers or abnormal swellings.

Your dentist may also take the opportunity to ask you about oral hygiene, diet and lifestyle choices and they will be happy to answer any questions you have. If you have a clean bill of oral health, you won’t need to arrange another check-up for 6 months. If you need further treatment, we will find an appointment time to suit you.

How often do I need to have a check-up?

You should aim to see your dentist every 6-9 months; however, if you have dental health problems or you have symptoms, such as bleeding gums or tooth pain, you should see your dentist at this point, rather than waiting for your next routine check.

How is oral health linked to general health?

Numerous studies have established a link between oral health and general, with gum disease connected to an increased risk of heart disease and strokes. It is believed that harmful bacteria from the mouth can travel to other parts of the body, which increases the risk of an inflammatory response.

London Bridge Leads The Way In Tooth Whitening Treatment

2445507_blogTooth whitening is one of London’s most popular cosmetic treatments. This simple, safe and quick treatment is a sure-fire means of making your smile look more attractive and more youthful.

Why is tooth whitening so popular?

White teeth have been linked to beauty and good health for centuries, but the trend for a bright white smile really took off in Hollywood in the 1990’s and a bright, radiant smile has been popular ever since. Nowadays, many people prefer a more natural result to the ultra-white smile made famous by celebrities.

When you think about cosmetic dentistry, there is an assumption that you have to go through numerous sessions and spend huge amounts of money to get a result and tooth whitening is one of the best examples to disprove this myth. Treatment is quick, there are no needles involved and fees are affordable.

How long do the results of whitening treatment last?

The results of tooth whitening are not permanent, but they should last for several years and you can have repeat treatment in the future if you wish. If you’re partial to a cup of coffee or tea in the morning or you enjoy a glass of red with your dinner, you may find that the discolouration process is accelerated.

Is whitening treatment safe?

There has been a great deal of discussion in the media of late as to the safety of whitening treatment. The reality is that whitening treatment is considered to be very safe when provided by a trained dental professional. Side-effects are uncommon and usually include sensitivity, which tends to be heightened temporarily immediately after treatment.

Stain removal

As well as whitening treatment, we also offer intensive stain removal. This is not the same as whitening treatment, as it does not lighten the shade of your teeth; however, it can make a real difference to the look of your smile and many patients comment that their teeth look a lot brighter.
